It is Meridian Spine & Joint’s policy to assume that patients coming for treatment are capable of making informed decisions.  If a health care practitioner employed or contracted by Meridian Spine and Joint, has reasonable grounds to believe that a patient is not aware of their legal rights, pertaining to the injury they are being treated for, the health care practitioner overseeing the patients rehabilitation, will exercise reasonable professional judgment and adhere to the guidelines of their professional college and the provincial Health Care Consent Act (HCCA.) in making a recommendation to seek legal advice.
