Acute Injuries Rehabilitation Centre involved designing and establishing an interdisciplinary program for primary and secondary rehabilitation for injured workers. The program was to be run as a profit centre within a large teaching hospital. The primary methodologies used to design the program were bench marking, literature searches, and site visits. A multi-disciplinary team of hospital personnel were recruited to work with the consultants to prepare a proposal for funding by the Workers Compensation Board as a pilot project. Methodologies to establish the program included significant staff member training, creation of clinical guidelines and care pathways, development of a business plan and economic forecasting, marketing services to community based referral sources, and establishing an outcomes indicator program.
The Audiology Clinic and Hearing Aid Centre - involved planning the start-up business plan and strategy for the Centre to provide diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing services in the community. Consultation was also provided to establish the business process systems at start-up. Subsequently business and operational plans were developed to expand the Centre to four locations.
The Wortley Village Medical Centre - Intermediate Care Assessment Centre - involved development of a proposal and business plan for the Wortley Village Medical Centre to provide short term (24 hour) intermediate care services for clients being discharged from hospital who are not ready for independent living or who required a supervised treatment which could be provided outside of hospital.
Hospice of London - developed a business plan including a capital campaign plan to initiate new clinical and support services within a new facility. The business plan included the rationale for the new facility, the functional plan for the facility in terms of programs and services, the costing of the facility, the plan for growth and the financial plan to support the capital and operating costs of the facility.
